New & exclusive Face Masks from Zd Zero Defects!

Approved & reusable face masks

At ZD Zero Defects, we have joined the cause with these new hygienic and reusable fabric masks, which are in line with the UNE 0065 CWA 17553 standard.
They are face masks for adults (+ 12 years), for personal use, and are made in Spain.

The masks feature an approved fabric of 126g/m2, made of 80% polyester and 20% polyamide, that has undergone a water-proofing treatment. This treatment facilitates the breathability of these masks and at the same time repels water and micro drops, acting as a barrier against both viruses and bacteria.

This fabric has been tested for Breathability and Filtration Efficiency (BFE). The maximum number of washes certified to 90% protection level is 20 wash cycles.

Test results were as follows:

  • Products tested with the UNE-EN 14683: 2019 standard
  • Trial number: 2020TM2336
  • The entity that has carried out the test: AITEX
  • Filtration efficiency (BFE): 93.50%
  • Breathability: 27 Pa/cm 2

Instructions for use

Washing and drying the mask

  1. Avoid contact between a dirty mask and clean clothing.
  2. Wash and disinfect with normal detergent and water at 60º (normal washing machine cycle). 20 cycles.
  3. Products that can damage the materials should not be used in the washing process.
  4. It is recommended that the mask dry completely within 2 hours of washing.
  5. It should not be dried or sanitized using an oven or microwave.
  6. Boiling the face cover in water is not recommended. There is no guarantee that the fabric can withstand the 100ºC temperature of boiling water without degrading.
  7. Masks cannot be decontaminated by freezing. Viral or bacterial agents continue to be preserved and at 4ºC it does not lose their infectious character.
  8. During both drying and subsequent storage of the mask, environments in which the mask can become contaminated should be avoided.
  9. After each wash cycle, a visual inspection should be performed. If any damage is found to the mask it should be discarded.

If the cleaning cycle is followed, it is not normally recommended that you disinfect the mask before putting it on.

Putting on the mask

It is recommended that you place the mask on your skin and comply with the following steps. Adult supervision in the putting on and removal of children’s masks is fundamental:

  1. Wash your hands well with soap and water.
  2. Identify the top of the mask.
  3. Position the mask on your face, at the level of your nose.
  4. Hold the mask from the outside and put the straps around both sides of your ears.
  5. Lower the lower part of the mask to the chin.
  6. Check that the mask covers the chin.
  7. Fit the nose section to the nose.
  8. Once fitted, do not touch the mask with your hands. If you need to touch the mask, you must first wash your hands with soap and water or rub them with a sanitizer.

Mask removal

To avoid contamination when removing a mask, the following steps should be followed:

  1. Take off protective gloves.
  2. Wash your hands with soap and water or a sanitizer.
  3. Remove the mask without touching the front of it.
  4. Wash your hands with soap and water or a sanitizer.

Using the mask

The mask should be washed every time it gets dirty, wet, or cannot be placed correctly on the face. For safety and hygiene reasons, the mask should not be used for more than 4 hours.
It should not be used if it is dirty or damp.
If it needs to be stored temporarily, contact with any surface should be avoided.
It should also not be placed in any waiting position on the forehead or under the chin during or after use.

Mask removal

Once the maximum number of washes has been exceeded, these masks must be disposed of in a bin fitted with a plastic bag. It is recommended that you use a double bag to preserve the contents of the first one in case the outer bag is torn. These masks can be disposed of in bio-waste containers.

  • WARNING: If you are sick, this reusable hygienic mask is not suitable. Consult your doctor for advice.
  • WARNING: Always check that the mask is on correctly and covers your nose, mouth, and chin. Masks are recommended to be worn on bare skin; beards or hair can reduce filtration efficiency below established limits.
  • WARNING: Reusable hygienic masks are not suitable for children under 3 years of age. It is recommended that children between the ages of 3 and 12 be supervised while wearing the mask. A reusable hygienic mask that hinders the wearer’s ability to breathe when worn for the first time is considered inappropriate.
  • WARNING: This mask is not a substitute for protective measures (regular hand washing, physical distancing, reduced contact with other people). It minimizes the projection of the user’s respiratory saliva droplets into the environment.
  • WARNING: Do not use when participating in intense physical activity.

WARNING: Stop using this product as soon as you notice the first signs of damage.
