Textil ZEDESA has received the support of the European Regional Development Fund, whose objective is to strengthen research, technological development and innovation. Thanks to this initiative, we’ve been able to incorporate innovation into our processes, acquire equipment for our factory and promote ourselves internationally to support the creation and consolidation of innovative companies. This action took place during 2019. It was also made possible through the support of the InnoCámaras programme of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce.
The cutting-edge machinery we’ve acquired has been used exclusively for the new women’s and men’s collections, improving their seaming, the quality of stitching for the garments and obtaining improvements in production times.
An example of how this machinery has been put to use is in the incorporation of blonde lace to the new women’s tops and knickers collections.
How are these machines?
These new items require more technologically advanced machinery, which allows for fast, safe stitching on the new fabric and elastics used in these collections, with drag adapted to these finer fabrics and that can work with elastics with digital prints in textures that are very different from traditional ones.
The garments we’ve developed are made of high-stretch fabrics, which makes it essential for our seams to also have the same elasticity as the fabric to prevent them from breaking.
This machinery allows for a different type of stitching that makes such elasticity possible, thereby guaranteeing that the garment won’t break after use. Additionally, we achieve significant savings in stitching time (between 15% and 20%), as this machinery allows operators to work more quickly and safely, improving the final quality of the product.
Finally, the equipment’s motor allows us to reduce energy use by 80%.
