Why you should choose noble fabrics?

Have you seen the new underwear garments for women

Today we want to explain why we think you should choose noble fabrics for their clothes.

New technologies applied to the textile industry have broadened up the possibilities of what we can do and achieved with different fabrics and materials.

Cotton, wool, linen and natural silk are known as noble fabrics. Yet, other chemical produced or synthetics fabrics were not considered as such.

Types of fabrics

Even though the range of materials used in the industry has expanded, the classification remains very traditional:

  • Materials that come from natural resources: vegetal, animal, or mineral.
  • Materials that come from chemical alterations: artificial or synthetic

What do we understand by noble fabric?

This term has evolved and expanded the scope of its meaning. At first, noble was synonymous of natural. Nowadays, it includes other chemical materials and beyond.

Examples with some nobles fabrics

In order to make this clearer, for instance, let’s see the case of cotton. Cotton, coming from natural a resource, may not be considered as noble if part of the seed is of bad quality, the crop is in a non-appropriate settlement because of the climate or the fertility conditions, there is an overuse of fertilizers or pesticides, there is an excess watering in its farming or in the later production, or because of a careless cotton spinning process.

In other words, a noble raw material does not guarantee a noble fiber at the end. It all depends on its treatment.

We can also find the reverse case: a material that comes from chemical origin can end up be considered a noble material. That happens when the production chain is supervised vigilantly from beginning to end, reducing the pollution involved, minimizing the amount of water used and the energy wasted in its production. This is the case, for instance, of the soya fiber, the modal from the beech tree, or the tencel from the eucalyptus tree.
