MicroModal® fiber is semi-natural. It is extracted from beech wood and transformed using an environmentally-friendly technique, the Edelweiss production process. This process, which transforms the wood into pulp and then into fibre, is carried out in Lenzing, Austria with zero carbon emissions.

MicroModal® manufacturing is eco-friendly because:

1. Beech forests have the surprising capacity to self-regenerate. The trees multiply naturally, and therefore do not require artificial planting or irrigation.
2. The beech wood is extracted with the utmost respect for current biodiversity and forest management laws.
3. The fibre is manufactured with zero carbon emissions.
4. An advanced chemical recovery process is used which allows us to recover over 95% of processed chemical products, which can then be used to produce other materials.

MicroModal® fiber is known for its softness and exceptionally pleasant feel. ZD uses the finest fibres that exist, creating a softer, more absorbent fabric. That’s why our underwear provide double the softness of cotton, with a silky feel. It is also a very breathable, fresh fabric with great absorption power. It prevents perspiration and bad odours. It keeps skin dry.

It offers an exceptionally pleasant feel and maintains its shape and finish even when washed frequently.
